Question 1

What is GBAEXxxx used for?

Accepted Answer

U is the Ex-certified empty housing. K is the populated Ex terminal housing with project-specific internal equipment.

Question 2

How many sizes are available and what is the size range?

Accepted Answer

34 sizes, from 58 × 64 × 34 mm up to 600 × 310 × 180 mm.

Question 3

What ingress protection does GBAEXxxx provide?

Accepted Answer

IP66 is standard for GBAEX housings.

Question 4

What is the difference between U and K versions?

Accepted Answer

U = Ex-certified empty housing; K = populated Ex terminal housing with project-specific internal equipment.

Question 5

Which Ex protection concepts are supported?

Accepted Answer

The range supports Ex e (increased safety) and Ex i (intrinsic safety) depending on project requirements.

Question 6

Is external earthing mandatory?

Accepted Answer

Yes, GBAEX includes an external earthing connection on the lower part as part of the Ex-oriented design.

Question 7

Is the Ex nameplate part of delivery?

Accepted Answer

Yes, nameplate included as part of the Ex execution.

Question 8

Can all GBA sizes be ordered in Ex variant?

Accepted Answer

A broad Ex matrix exists, but final release depends on certification scope and selected configuration.

Question 9

What is the key rule for installed components in Ex projects?

Accepted Answer

All attached and internal components must comply with the applicable Ex approvals for the final assembly.

Question 10

Can K versions include terminals and cable entries project-wise?

Accepted Answer

Yes, K versions can be configured with terminal systems, entries, and internal arrangement according to approved project design.

Question 11

Are engineering files available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, matrix models are provided with PDF and STEP data for faster layout/documentation work.

Question 12

What weight range should buyers expect?

Accepted Answer

150 to 12,000 g depending on model.

Question 13

Are mounting plates and hinges standardized or model-dependent?

Accepted Answer

Model dependent, matrix indicates mounting plate and hinge availability per item.

Question 14

What does “project-specific Ex documentation” mean in practice?

Accepted Answer

Documentation scope and configuration follow the project approval path; XINDUX aligns the enclosure setup to the required Ex concept and certification package.

Question 15

Can you supply an empty Ex housing plus prepared entries?

Accepted Answer

Yes, entries and internal arrangement can be defined project-wise (especially for K versions).

Question 16

What should engineering provide for an Ex RFQ?

Accepted Answer

Zone/concept (Ex e or Ex i), U vs K, required entries/terminals, approval scope, earthing/identification needs, and any internal component constraints (approved parts only).

Question 17

Are GBAEXxxx enclosures stocked?

Accepted Answer

Yes, availability is listed as in stock (standard matrix).

Question 18

How do you manage changes during Ex project execution?

Accepted Answer

Any component or entry changes must be evaluated against the Ex approvals and the approved project design before release.

Question 19

Can we request special labels/markings beyond the nameplate?

Accepted Answer

The datasheet states nameplate included; additional marking/identification is typically handled within the project-specific Ex documentation/configuration scope.

Question 20

What’s the best way to shorten lead time on Ex builds?

Accepted Answer

Freeze the approval scope early, supply the entry layout + terminal list up front, and keep all internal components aligned with project approvals.
